Working on the water.

Elbe, Alster, Bille, canals: Hamburg is known to have a lot of water. And there are many coworking spaces - for people who don't have to work in a fixed location. The houseboat LORE in Hammerbrook combines both: a floating coworking space with a unique flair.
Only 10 minutes by car from the main station, you can rent a space here for a short or longer period of time. Desks on the water are available for as little as eight weeks - for a break from the home office, for example.
The owners Martin Müller-Wolff and Manfred Winkler have lived on a houseboat themselves for years. "We wanted our own four walls, and this was the only way we could afford them," says Müller-Wolff. When acquaintances wanted to sell their floating architecture office, the idea came up to use the 115 m2 as a shared workplace.
Since 2019, the two have been operating the office as a coworking space. The houseboat has 14 desks, a conference room, a telephone booth for undisturbed calls and a small pantry. And even the use of a rowing boat is included in the price - so that you can use your muscles as well as your head on the water.
